Depending on your company’s policies, some of us can groove as we move through our workdays. If your company allows, music does help in productivity. I, for example, hitch on a catching House music beat’s beautiful rhythm to sail through the headache that is debugging, waiting for PCs to catch up and that all-too-common moment of blank-mindedness.
So what’s your groove? Do you like it shouty or whispery? Or does office banter cover that for you? My colleague finds the sweet spot in vernacular Kikuyu music. He isn’t Kyuk. I find mine in House music.
One beautiful webapp that does it for me is 22Tracks. it gets you the juiciest jams from a number of overseas city DJs, curated perfectly for bobbing your head in the office. Another one is Noon Pacific, a web service that emails me a playlist of curated music every Monday, sometimes really strange music, for my enjoyment/bewilderment.
I’m sure if we had the likes of Pandora, Spotify et cetera supported here, we’d all be aboard that ship, right?
