We are on the brim of the breast cancer awareness month and in light of this, we pose a question to all who play in the IT and engineering field.
What role does tech have to play in cancer awareness?
This is the big question we ask today. How big and influential is tech, specifically IT in raising awareness on this? How successful is it? What roles do individuals (IT experts, designers, developers, engineers and consumers) and corporations play in this?
Obviously, we cannot be blind to the fact that, like most current-day campaigns, cancer awareness is already in the tech realm. Its strategy, reach and impact is the bigger question.
More so, what can you and I do to aid this? Is a Facebook post enough? Does watching another TED talk on cancer qualify as sufficient outreach? Does building apps like these that focus on breast cancer count? Am I asking the right questions?
Today’s post, as mentioned, is a question. Please join in the conversation. Pass the message. Nudge your colleague to get a screening. It could save a life
